Circular 10/2009: Postponement of the coming into force of the amendments made to Part G and other provisions of the Building Regulations
This circular letter draws attention to the Building and Approved Inspectors (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2009 (S.I. 2009/2465).
The purpose of this Circular is to:
• draw attention to the amendments made by these regulations and explain the changes they make to the coming into force dates of amendments made to Building Regulations 2000 and the Building (Approved Inspectors etc) Regulations 2000 by the Building and Approved Inspectors (Amendment) Regulations 2009 (S.I. 2009/1219) and the Building (Amendment No.2) Regulations 2009 (S.I.2009/2397)
• draw attention to the corresponding amendments to the dates in the transitional provisions in the Building and Approved Inspectors (Amendment) Regulations 2009 made by these regulations
• announce that the approval of Approved Document G (Sanitation, hot water safety and water efficiency) which was published in draft on 13 May 2009 will not now come into force until 6 April 2010.
The regulations which were made on 8 September 2009 will come into force on 30 September 2009.
