How we provide peace of mind for your building project

Whether you’re planning an extension, renovation or any kind of building project for your home, our support and guidance can help give you peace of mind.

Any building project can be daunting. It needs to be planned and budgeted carefully, and builders must be briefed to deliver exactly what you want and to the highest standards. Most building work carried out in England and Wales must also comply with building regulations. That includes new builds, extending or altering an existing building, or changing its use. But even renovating a roof or external walls, or replacing a window, must meet the relevant planning and building regulations requirements.

Our team at local authority building control can help you through the building regulations process. We will always act first in the interests of you, the homeowner. Our priority is the comfort and safety of those living in your home. Whatever your building project, we can help provide you with peace of mind.

How we work

From start to finish on your project, we’ll work with you to ensure any building work is safe, healthy, inclusive and efficient, considers the impact on the local environment and meets the standards set by the building regulations.

Our independent, impartial inspections of the key stages of your project mean that we are with you at every stage of the build. Our service is local, professional and prompt, with same-day site inspections wherever possible.

Value for money

At the Building Control Partnership we’re an independent, not-for-profit organisation, providing value for money and excellent customer service. Our practical advice can also help cut your costs in both the short and long term.

Expert help – at all stages

We encourage you to contact us before you begin your project, as an early conversation can often save you time and money in the long run. We can discuss any potential technical challenges and concerns with your architect or builder before your building project starts too. For example, we have extensive knowledge of the local area, including ground and drainage conditions.

Once the project is under way, we continue to offer support, through regular site inspections and being contactable. If an unexpected issue arises on site, we can work with you and your builder to help find a solution.

As part of Local Authority Building Control (LABC) we are the largest building control body in England and Wales. LABC has offered building control services longer than anyone else, helping homeowners to navigate building regulations and ensure their projects are safe and well built.  At the Building Control Partnership we provide the building control service for the majority of the projects in Hampshire and are proud to lead our community, ensuring it benefits from high quality, safe and sustainable buildings.

Our support continues well beyond the end of your project too. We’ll be there for example, if you need a copy of your completion certificate should you sell your home in the future.
