Pre submission advice

Whether your project is in the early planning stages or even just an idea for a client, we are happy to provide free, confidential pre- application advice on all aspects of your proposal. We can be contacted by phone or email or can attend a site meeting.

The Building Regulations can be complex and important areas such as fire safety, energy efficiency and access for the disabled can be agreed before projects reach tender stage.

Benefit from our experience

  • We are a 20-strong team of professionally qualified registered building inspectors, a structural engineer and an access officer. Backed by our dedicated Business Support team, between us we have a wealth of experience and expertise to offer.
  • Our building inspectors all live locally and have a detailed knowledge of local construction types and ground conditions.
  • Together with our access to construction records of existing properties dating back many decades, a call to or meeting with one of our Building Control Partnership inspectors often gives the full picture before you start your project.
  • If appropriate, we can also involve other bodies such as the Fire Service or Planning colleagues by setting up joint meetings to discuss your proposals.
  • Experience has shown that a pre-submission meeting can have a significant and positive impact upon design time and costs.
  • Our Access officer can review schemes at a very early stage and provide advice on the best way to comply with both Part M of the Building Regulations and the Equalities Act.
  • We can discuss how we can tailor our service to meet your needs, why using the Building Control Partnership is the best choice, and how we work out our charges.
